Kim Bowman's Blog on YB Handbags

I am so honored by this month's blog by Kim Bowman of K. Hope Creative.  She perfectly captures the essence of my vision.  Kim and I met last month at The Southern Coterie Summit at The Cloisters, Sea Island where some 300 amazing entrepreneurial and creative women exchanged ideas about their respective businesses and dreams.  Inspired, I continue on with my journey and am fueled by the support of intelligent, exceptional women who especially understand the incredible effort any business takes to achieve success. Her blog reads: YARA BASHOOR - A BRAND TO WATCH AND WEAR When an architect-turned-lawyer becomes a high-end handbag designer, you know your chances of finding exquisite materials, quality craftsmanship, and timeless style increase exponentially. And each of those is a key ingredient when creating a sophisticated brand aimed at discerning women. I spotted my first Yara Bashoor bag at The Southern C Summit last month at The Cloister in beautiful Sea Island, Georgia. I was instantly drawn to its unique, curvy shape and vibrant red color. At closer inspection, I was blown away by the quality of the genuine ostrich hide, which I learned had been farmed in South Africa.  Suffice it to say, Miami-based Yara Bashoor has a way with bags. And it translates to a passion for the brand that is evident even when glancing at the product. [photos omitted] Inspired by her love of vintage and contemporary architecture and sculpture, Yara’s evolving brand includes American alligator hide and Italian lambskin lining, in addition to ostrich. Her vibrant collection showcases sophisticated silhouettes and styles, such as totes and clutches, and offers sleek versatility that takes you from day to night to special event.  “The women who carry my bags are smart, established Southern women who prefer classic styles, yet aren’t afraid of color,” Bashoor says. “My bags are fashion statements for women who know what they want.” Bashoor continues to refine her line and is committed to adding even greater simplicity. She currently has a new line under development with a tentative release date sometime in June. Reasons why Yara Bashoor is a brand to watch Strong Differentiation – The designer’s background as both an architect and lawyer separate her from other designers. She brings skills to the design table that others don’t. Strong differentiation is critical to elevating and growing a lasting brand. Uncomplicated Flow – The flow of the YB brand is as uncomplicated as the design of her bags. There aren’t an abundance of product choices so you can’t get lost, confused, or sidetracked. It’s a simple, streamlined brand with room to grow.  Quality Photography – Yara’s Instagram feed is packed with beautiful colors, backdrops, and settings. Her professional photography captures and communicates the value of her products. She clearly understands how photography can make or break a brand. Yara Bashoor is also a generous contributor to many Florida charities, sharing her stylish handbags with causes committed to helping those in need.  Keep watching YB! Kim Bowman's blog is found at
